Description:
In 1956, Charles Fraser developed Sea Pines Plantation into the first private plantation community on the Island. Since then many other areas of the country have asked Charles to help develop and plan communities following some of the same guidelines. Sea Pines is the largest residential and resort plantation on Hilton Head spanning about 5,200 acres. Within Sea Pines are approximately 3,839 homes and 2,042 condo/villas /townhomes. Most property in Sea Pines can be rented short term. Views vary from golf, woods, lagoons, marsh and ocean front. The community is famous for its four championship golf courses, including the Harbour Town Golf Links, home of the PGA Tour’s annual RBC Heritage, presented by Boeing. Sea Pines is also associated with the full service yacht basin, Harbour Town Marina and its landmark red-and-white-striped lighthouse, built in 1969 to aid boats traveling on the captivating Calibogue Sound.
