Rose Hill Plantation straddles both sides of Highway 278 in Bluffton. There are 988 +/- slab and raised homes (without short term rental activity) as well as home sites within Rose Hill. HISTORY
Originally inhabited by the Yemassee Indian tribe, the Plantation itself was owned by Sir John Colleton, and in the 19th century was a working plantation producing Indigo and cotton by the Kirk family. The Rose Hill Mansion, privately owned, graces Rose Hill. The National Register of Historic Places has a direct link.
About 1980 the property was purchased by the Rose Hill Plantation Development Co. and the community vision took shape.

- The golf course (south side) is set among the Live Oaks of Rose Hill Plantation. Rose Hill is LowCountry golfing at its best, man made lakes and an abundance of wildlife. This 18-hole is a great challenge to all standards of golfer. Amenities include a natural turf driving range, putting green, two practice holes, an on site Director of Instruction, professionally stocked golf shop and a full service restaurant.
