Dinners are usually held on the 3rd Saturday of the month in October, November, January and March.Guests are divided into groups of eight. Each group meets in a home where the host prepares the entrée and the three other couples are assigned an appetizer, vegetable or dessert to prepare. The committee makes all of the house assignments, prepares all the menus and provides all the recipes. This is not a gourmet club so the recipes are user friendly with ingredients available in our local markets.Couples keep track of expenses for their part of the dinner. At the end of each meal, the expenses are totaled and divided by four. A typical dinner, including wine, will cost each couple between $20 and $25.
Everyone participating in Wine and Dine, including all of the substitutes, is invited to a holiday party at the Beach House in December. For this event, the committee prepares the entrée and dessert and guests bring side dishes. In the spring, everyone is again invited to the Beach House to become organized for the next year. Attendees bring heavy hors d’oeuvres and regular participants sign up for the month in which they prefer to hostess for the upcoming year.
